Handling Calendar Blocks

Blocks are for blocking your calendar to ensure bookings are not made during that time.  In most cases, blocks are not imported as bookings.  This is because:

1. Blocks often cause duplicate bookings (for example Airbnb would have a block for a VRBO booking).

2. Blocks should not typically generate cleans, inspections, etc.

Note: Teams does NOT import notes from any Blocks from any PMS

Add Booking from Block:

1. From the Legacy Master Calendar

Click on the Sticky Filters Option and then In the upper right select Show Blocks

From the Enhanced Master Calendar click on Show to set the Blocks Filter

Click on the desired Block and Choose Create Booking

2. From  Bookings page.

In the yellow help area Click Review and manually add them as bookings here.

Review the list of future blocks and click Add or Ignore on each to Add as a Booking, or Ignore and remove from the list.

Note: Operto Teams will not create a Booking from a Block if there are overlapping Bookings.

Import all blocks as bookings (iCal imports only) - not recommended

From Setup --> Properties

Click Edit for the appropriate Property to adjust (the pencil icon)

In the Bookings Section, next to each iCal, check the Import Blocks checkbox

IMPORTANT: If you choose to import blocks (iCal only), it is very important to review your Master Calendar for duplicate and incorrect bookings.

Import One Day Bookings as Blocks (iCal imports only)

Due to the nature of all blocks importing as bookings from some PMS software, such as LiveRez, there is an option to tell Operto Teams to treat any 1-day booking or block as a block in Operto Teams.

This keeps anything that is just 1-day off of the calendar in Operto Teams.

This works great for property managers that do not take 1-night stays but add 1-day blocks for maintenance or detail cleaning.

If actual 1-night stays are reserved as bookings, and this is turned on, those will need to be noted and found in the system to create an actual booking.

Go to Setup --> Properties, Edit.

In the Bookings Section, next to each iCal, check the Import One Day as Blocks checkbox
