Owner Managed Tasks - Allowing Owners to Add and Remove Tasks and Change Task Dates
Owners can have permission to Add, Remove and Change Task Dates for Tasks after a set number of days.
System Setup
In Setup --> System Settings, Owner Settings section.
Check the box for Use Owners Options
Owners Permissions
Change Task Dates and Make Tasks Inactive
In Setup --> Owners, for each owner use the following settings.
- Allow Owner To View Future Tasks must be checked
- Allow Owner To Change Task Dates and Make Tasks Inactive must be checked
- Can only change after - use this field to restrict last minute changes by each owner.
Add Tasks
STEP 1: Owner Settings
In Setup --> Owners, for each owner use the following settings.
- Allow Owner To View Future Tasks must be checked
- Allow Owner To Add Owner Tasks must be checked
- Can only change after - use this field to restrict last minute changes by each owner.
STEP 2: Task Rule Settings
In Setup --> Task Rules
Add or Edit a Task Rule with the Task Type Standard Single Task
In the Standard Single Scheduling Details section, choose YES for Allow Owners to Add this Task
After clicking save, use Manage Assignments (the people icon) to assign the Task Rule to the Owner's properties.
Owner View
In Setup --> Owners, use the db link to impersonate your owners and view their dashboards.
Navigate to Future Tasks
Only tasks over the set number of days in the future can be added, edited or removed.
Removing Tasks
To make a task Inactive, click the remove link
Once a task is removed, it can be re-activated it if it is outside the set number of days.
Changing the Task Date
To change the date of a task, use the Change Date box.
Only tasks that have more than a one day task window can be changed.
Task dates can only be changed within the task window.
Adding Tasks
Add a task by clicking + Add Task and filling out the form.
