Task Rule Types Overview

Task Rules are defined by a Task Type. Task Types dictate how a task will be scheduled through predefined fields. This article explains the fields that are associated with each specific task types.

Most often used Task Types

Before Check-In - Task window END constrained by BOOKING CHECK-IN DATE. One task is created per booking. 

associated fields:

  • Task Window Start X number of days before check-in
  • Restrict by Previous Check Out (yes or no)
  • Skip if previous check Out is X days or less (or never skip) - perhaps you skip a refresh clean if the previous check out is within 3 days
  • Task initially added On X day

After Check Out - Task window START constrained by BOOKING CHECK-OUT Date. One task is created per booking. 

associated fields:

  • Complete Task within X days of check out
  • Restrict by next Check-In (yes or no)
  • Skip if next booking is X days or less (or never skip)
  • Skip if Booking Length is over or under X days
  • Task is initially added on X day

Mid Vacancy - Tasks are every x days scheduled between bookings. Multiple tasks created per vacancy.

associated fields:

  • Perform Task Every X days during a vacancy
  • Start the X day after last Check Out on the next [SAT-SUN]
  • Do not perform within X number of days of next Check-In
  • Complete Task within X number of days

On a Schedule - Task scheduled regardless of bookings. 

associated fields:

  • Perform Task Every [1-12] [days|weeks|months]
  • Start at TIME
  • Start scheduling on DATE
  • Restrict by bookings 
  • Complete Task within x number of days by TIME

Standard Single - Task available for easy one-off scheduling. Not automatically scheduled.  

associated fields:

  • Schedule regardless of Occupancy or Don't allow task to be scheduled on a fully occupied date
  • Don't include Add Task in Submit Issue Form or Include Add Task in Submit Issues Form

Less often used Task Types

Mid Stay - Task scheduled every x days constrained by CHECK IN and CHECK OUT. Multiple tasks are created per booking. 

associated fields:

  • Perform Task Every X days Mid Stay
  • Start at X day after Check-In 
  • Only schedule if on or over X days from Check Out
  • Complete Task within X number of days
  • Skip if Booking Length is over or under X days
  • Complete Task Within X days
  • Task initially added on X day

After Booked Date - Task window START constrained by BOOKING CREATE DATE. One task is created per booking.

associated fields:

  • Complete Task within X number of days of Date Booking was Created
  • Task initially added on X day

After Check-In  - Task window START constrained by BOOKING CHECK-IN DATE. One task is created per booking.

associated fields:

  • Complete Task within X number of days of Check-In
  • Restrict By Check Out (yes or no)
  • Skip if Booking Length is over or under X days
  • Skip if check out is X days OR LESS (or never skip)
  • Task initially added on X day

Before Check Out - Task window END constrained by BOOKING CHECK OUT DATE. One task is created per booking.

associated fields:

  • Task Window Start X days before check out
  • Constrained by Check In? (yes or no)
  • Skip if check out is X days OR LESS (or never skip)
  • Task initially added on X day

Change Over - Task window START AND END constrained by vacancy dates. One task is created per vacancy. 

associated fields:

  • Max Turn Around time (Check Out to Check-In)
  • Min Turn Around time (Check Out to Check-In)
  • Schedule within X days from Previous Check Out
  • Schedule within X days of Next Check-In
  • Task is initially added On X day

After Previous Task - Task window START constrained by TASK END TIME. One task is created per previous task.

associated fields:

  • Start After X TASK RULE
  • Notify Assigned Staff upon Parent Completion (email, text or both)
  • Skip if Time Window is X days or less (or never skip) - perhaps an inspection is skipped if the next check-in is the same day.
  • Task initially added on X day
Note: The Start After Previous Task Rule Type, can only be a dependent Task for the following Task Rule Types: Before Check In; After Check Out; Mid Vacancy and Changeover.
